As we prepare to begin the new school year, please note the following updates regarding COVID protocols in our schools based on the guidance provided jointly by the NYS Department of Education and NYS Department of Health for the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year:

• Universal Masking is not required
• Masking after known exposure for 10 days is recommended
• Masking days 6-10 after positive test/onset of symptoms is recommended
• No contact tracing
• No required quarantine after exposure
• Isolation for minimum 5 days if COVID positive (Day 0 is date of test or onset of symptoms) unless symptoms have improved
• No required testing of unvaccinated staff
• Staff and/or students experiencing COVID related symptoms at school may have a COVID test administered in the school health offices
• For students, the nurse will call home to get permission to administer the test
• If a staff member or student is sick (cough, fever, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhea), stay home until symptom free without medication for at least 24 hours
• At-Home Test Kits are available in the main office of each school, as well as at District Office, for pick up by families, staff and community members who would like them
