UPDATE MAY 1, 2026

Greetings, ACS Families!  Please see the information below regarding the remainder of the school year calendar.

To date, we have used three emergency closure days, which means that school will be in session on May 8th and May 22nd.

The last day of student attendance is currently scheduled for Friday, June 26^th; however, so long as all requirements for the number of school days and instructional hours are met, the following adjustments will be made:

• The last day of attendance for 8th grade will be June 16th, which is the last day of normal attendance for grades 9-12;
• The last day of attendance for 7th grade will be June 18th;
• The Juneteenth Holiday is June 19^th;

• The last day of attendance for students in PK-6 will be June 25th - This will be a normal day for PK, but a half-day for K-6;

• There will be no school for students PK-12 on June 26th;

Please keep in mind that we also now must contend with the possibility of closures or shortened school days due to high temperatures.  While the District is working to implement additional measures to mitigate high temperatures in classrooms where possible, it is still possible that closures or shortened days may be necessary.  Further, such closures and/or shortened days may impact the implementation of the adjustments noted above, as the District must meet SED requirements regarding the minimum number of school days and hours in order for the adjustments to occur.

Finally, graduation is scheduled for June 26th, at 7pm.  As always, we will plan to hold the ceremony outside, but will have the Event Center set up as a Plan B.
